Dental Crowns

Where damage to a person’s teeth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use dental  crowns to make the smile appear and feel “as new”. Dental crowns are an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown?

In most dental offices, fitting a crown requires at least two visits. The initial visit would involve removing decay, shaping the tooth, and fitting a temporary crown that is worn while a laboratory creates the permanent crown. The patient then would return approximately three weeks later for the second visit to have the crown fitted and cemented. In our office, all of the procedure and creation of the permanent crown is done in one visit with the aid of a computer and CAD/CAM technology. The results are amazing and the entire process is usually less than two hours.
